Prophet

Battle Cleric

Faith has a place on the front line.

The Interlude Prophet buffed and spent the fight with nothing to do. In Knell he fights alongside: lights auras, holds the bond of whoever he protects and decides who takes the blow.

Buff and vanish is over.

Light, Heavy and Weapon Mastery remain. What comes in is body and decision: auras that cost MP for as long as the fight lasts, and a bond that shares the damage with whoever you chose to protect.

  1. Auras instead of short buffs

Aura of Battle, Aura of Protection and Arcane Aura: one aura lit at a time, paid in MP per second, while the Prophet fights beside the group. A Hierophant holds two.

  2. Aegis

A shield worth 15% of maximum HP for 10 seconds, cast on whoever is about to take the blow. A 45-second cooldown: a decision, not a routine.

  3. Protective Bond

For 15 seconds, 30% of an ally’s damage goes to the Prophet, who cannot drop below 1 HP because of it. Whoever holds the bond chooses who lives.

  4. A body for the front line

Einhasad's Vigor adds passive HP and P.Def; Consecrated Strike is a consecrated melee blow that lowers the target’s attack.

  5. Loses Resurrection

The Threshold rescue belongs to the Bishop and the Elders. The Prophet brings Stabilize: time for whoever can bring the soul back.

Four decisions per fight.

Names as they appear in the game. The icons are the Knell client’s.

Aura of Battle

Aura · MP per second · Level 40

+10% P.Atk and +8% Atk.Spd for the group while it is lit. Swap it for Aura of Protection or Arcane Aura as the fight demands.

Aegis

Reactive · 45 s cooldown · Level 40

A shield that absorbs up to 15% of the ally’s maximum HP for 10 seconds. It lands as a golden shell and shatters in a flash when the blow passes.

Protective Bond

Active · 15 s · 2 min cooldown · Level 46

A chain of golden links ties the Prophet to the ally: 30% of the damage they take passes to you. You cannot drop below 1 HP because of it.

Stabilize

Reactive · 10 min cooldown · Level 40

Adds sixty seconds to a fallen ally’s Threshold, up to three minutes in total. Buys time for the Bishop or the Elder to arrive.

When the bell tolls.

The tank fell ten steps from the Cruma exit. Sixty seconds. The Prophet lights Aura of Protection, casts Aegis on the Bishop running for the body and holds the bond: part of whatever comes now is his. Six seconds of casting. The soul returns. The tank leaves with a scar; the Prophet leaves with the story.

An example vignette. The Threshold rescue belongs to the Bishop and the Elders; the Prophet makes sure they get there alive.

What he covers. What he does not.

Covers

  • Empower: attack, defence or magic auras for the whole group
  • Sustain: Aegis and Protective Bond on whoever is about to take the blow
  • Stabilize: extra time for whoever fell at the Threshold
  • Alone: viable, slower than a damage class

Does not cover

  • Sustained healing: that belongs to the Elders and the Bishop
  • The rescue itself: the Tear of Einhasad ritual is not his
  • Ranged damage: the Prophet fights up close

Walks well with

  • A Bishop or an Elder, for the rescue he cannot do
  • A tank who holds the pull while the bond is active
  • Physical or magical DDs: the auras serve both
